Plant description: Tiny purple-blue flowers covered with star-shaped hairs. flowers are perched on long stems and at the base are narrow grey-green leaves.

PRECAUTIONS: May cause drowsiness for people with low blood pressure. It is an emmenagogue so best avoided in the early months of pregnancy.

USES:

Circulation/Muscles/Joints: Sedating to the heart and helps bring down high blood pressure and calms palpitations. Its pain relieving qualities deal effectively with muscular spasm and may be good for sprains, strains, and sharp rheumatic pains. Blending with marjoram enhances the effect on rheumatism.

Digestive: Stimulates the production of bile, which helps digest fats. It increases gastric secretions which can be helpful in cases of nausea, vomiting, colic, and flatulence.

Immune System: It’s antiviral and antibacterial properties help keep infections down

Nervous system: Relaxing to the parasympathetic nervous system
